Netflix is expected to launch it’s list of Bollywood movies, which were earlier to be released in theatres.

Coronavirus has impacted films on a large scale in Bollywood, forcing it to move directly to a streaming site instead of a cinema hall.

Exhibitors are pressurising the government to open the latest cinema hall by next month or September, but Bollywood filmmakers do not want to waste time looking at time.

Netflix is ​​now all set to release its list of Bollywood films which were earlier scheduled to release in theatres.The announcement is expected on 16 July.

9 films are expected to be streamed on Netflix, "The list is tentative but mostly, these are films that will be unveiled in the media as Netflix's originals." These movies are as follows:

Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare


Directed by 'Lipstick Under My Burkha' fame director Alankrita Shrivastava 'Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare' stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar as lead roles.
The story of the film revolves around two cousin sisters Dolly and Kajal and is about a secret shared by them.

Torbaaz



It stars Sanjay Dutt and Nargis Fakhri and is probably the first Hindi film shot in Kyrgyzstan. Directed by Girish Malik, it is set in the Afghanistan city of Kabul and deals with the issue of child suicide bombers. Interestingly, its producer Rahul Mittra had, in March 2020, assured that the film would hit cinemas in October.

Ludo





Seems it's on the lines of 'A life in a Metro (2007). Ludo, is also directed by Anurag Basu. The ensemble star cast includes Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra and Pankaj Tripathi.

The Girl On The Train


Official hindi remake of the Hollywood film The Girl On The Train this film stars Parineeti Chopra, Aditi Rao Hydari, Kirti Kulhari and Avinash Tiwary. Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, it has been shot in United Kingdom.


Ginny Weds Sunny



Directed by debutant director Puneet Khanna and produced by Vinod Bachchan of Tanu Weds Manu (2011) and Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana (2017) fame, this romcom stars Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam. It was shot in real locations in Delhi and also in Ghaziabad, Noida, Karnal and Manali. The light-hearted flick is about Sunny, who meets Ginny for a marital alliance, but she rejects him. Sunny then teams up with Ginny's mother, who becomes his love guru, and with her guidance he tries to woo Ginny.

Indoo Ki Jawani



Starring Kiara Advani and Aditya Seal, produced by Nikhil Advani Production's it is about a spunky girl from Ghaziabad whose bizarre experience on some dating app results in a comedy of errors. This will be Kiara's second Netflix film after Karan Johar-produced Guilty, which will release in March.

Raat Akeli Hai




This crime thriller is set in the Uttar Pradesh of 1980s, and is about the journey of a man from a rookie common man to an experienced police officer. Raat Akeli Hai stars Radhika Apte, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shweta Tripathi, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Ila Arun and Swanand Kirkire. This crime thriller which is directorial debut of casting director Honey Trehan is set in the Uttar Pradesh of 1980s, and is about the journey of a man from a rookie common man to an experienced police officer.

Anurag Kashyap's next with Alaya F



Titled Project 10 it's directed and produced by Anurag Kashyap. It stars Pooja Bedi's daughter Alaya F, who earlier this year, made her debut with Saif Ali Khan-starrer Jawaani Jaaneman. Shot extensively in UK, Anurag has mentioned the film as a 'young love story’.


Ak vs AK



It is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and is based on a brash film director who kidnaps the daughter of a well-known movie star. The title is actually a play on the initials of its lead actors – Anurag Kashyap and Anil Kapoor. Anil's son Harsh Varrdhan will be seen in the film in a cameo. It's the only film in the list which was never intended for a theatrical run and was always going to be release directly on Netflix.
